 Unless you were hiding in a cave for the past two months, you know that iPad is coming. But despite some popular beliefs, iPad is not the only game in town.
Archos has been making great media players for years. Their Archos 9 PC Tablet is similar in size and weight to iPad, features 8.9" LED backlit display, 1.1GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 60GB hard drive and comes with Windows 7. Archos 9 Tablet is available for $538 shipped at J&R Music.
Viliv X70 is another currently available alternative but it has much smaller screen than iPad. Viliv is coming out with S10 Blade that will have 10" multitouch screen, a bit larger than iPad's. Slate from HP and Adam from Notion Ink are the other iPad competitors that will be coming out soon.
