 Tax filers: prepare and file Personal 1040EZ Tax Returns for free at TurboTax Online. The basic 1040EZ return is completely free to prepare and E-File. If your taxes are more complicated and require a paid version of TurboTax, you can still start in free trial mode all the way to the point of printing or filing before you'll be required to pay. The TurboTax site has version-by-version comparison detail so you can quickly identify the version that's appropriate for you. No matter which version of TurboTax you choose, you'll also get free Federal E-Filing.
State returns are also available at each level of complexity. Discounts and free filing are available on returns prepared through April 15.
