While Sound Forge does have a 9.0 version selling for $203 after rebate, our recommendation for all but the most rigorous pro uses, is to go with version 8.0. Sound Forge v.8.0 is an extremely powerful audio waveform editor. This program is not for multi-track recording; rather, use it to modify mono or stereo audio waveforms, to boost volume and to apply effects, such as chorus, delay, distortion, flange/wah-wah, and many more.
